Ice Makers will begin to breed bacterial slime and mold growth within three months.
*Most ice makers are installed wtih activated carbon filters. These filters remove chlorine from municipal water leaving ice makers unprotected from bacteria growth. Calgon Carbon Corporation confirms that activated carbon breeds bacteria. Calgon suggests that providing a small dose of post disinfectat will easily destry 10,000 to 100,000 bacteria/mL present.
The disinfectant used in Bio-Clean II System is NSF Standard 60 certified for drinking water applications.
